Who is Yusaku Maezawa?

Why the SpaceX Lunar Tourists Won't Walk on the Moon

Japanese billionaire Yusaku Maezawa will be the first paying tourist to fly around the moon, and the 42-year-old said this week that he wants company for the week-long journey: Maezawa plans to invite six to eight artists, architects, designers and other creative people to join him on the SpaceX rocket "to inspire the dreamer in all of us". "I think it looks handsome", Musk said during last night's event, which introduced Japanese billionaire Yusaku Maezawa as the person who purchased a round-the-moon BFR trip that could launch as soon as 2023.

SpaceX, has announced that the company's 2023 moon mission will be streamed live in high-definition virtual reality so that viewers can get as close to the action as possible without being there in the flesh.

The trip is planned to take place in 2023 taking Maezawa and 8 other passengers to a trip around the moon.

"Ever since I was a kid, I have loved the moon".

The Japanese billionaire also invited Musk himself on the trip, according to The New York Times, to which the tech mogul replied, "I don't know..."

Markowsky said that his desire to go into space dates since he saw SpaceCamp, a 1986 movie about a group of teens at a NASA camp who is accidentally sent into space. Now he is ready to blast off to the moon on a SpaceX rocket scheduled in 2023.

Asked why the company made further changes, Musk said he "did not like the aesthetics" of the previous version.

SpaceX has launched more than 60 missions to deliver cargo or satellites into orbit over the past eight years - all of them without humans on board.

The United States hasn't had the ability to put humans in orbit since the Space Shuttle era ended in 2011.

Shotwell said Monday that SpaceX is planning to conduct a test flight of a version of the Dragon capsule that can carry astronauts before the end of the year. Their "Circumlunar Mission" will also include the use of "flight-proven Russian space vehicles", according to Space Adventures. Space S says it's enabling access to space for everyday people. The company has since launched a number of rockets including the Falcon Heavy rocket launch in February of this year. While he insists that he is just an "ordinary collector" and, in turn, an ordinary man, there is nothing ordinary about his next undertaking-blazing a path for people who want to explore space as a commercial passenger on a spaceflight. Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and Virgin boss Richard Branson have also entered the space tourism race. The trips are reported to cost $200 million. Blue Origin denied the report to CNN, saying ticket prices had not yet been set.
