Israeli 15-year old swimmer wins gold in Youth Olympic Games

Over 600,000 people have registered to receive a Youth Olympic Pass, the electronic bracelet that grants access to the events, and nearly 80 percent of the population of Buenos Aires are eager to attend the Games, according to a recent survey.

There was disappointment for BMX riders Jessie Smith and Cailen Calkin, with the Waikato pairing finishing fifth in the mised teams event.

"We've both been World Champions but to represent New Zealand has been such a privilege".

Cailen Calkin and Jessie Smith finished fifth in the mixed teams event. "I wanted to be here and I'm just honoured that I got the opportunity and I was selected", said Farr. "So I'm happy to be here", added Farr, who nailed distinctions in all eight subjects sat at the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate exams, including add maths and chemistry. "I tried my best and that was the best for me today".

The Israeli medalist is competing with swimmers who are up to three years older than her in the 18-and-under competition.

Sport climber Sarah Tetzlaff flew up the speed wall to set a New Zealand record as the sport made its Olympic debut.

"It's pretty special, and my mum, dad, brother and aunty have all come over to watch me which is awesome", Tetzlaff says. 'I was a swimmer before triathlon and it's amusing the swim now is my worst segment, ' Schlebusch said. "I'll try the best I cannot to be eliminated early", said Nayre, a right-hander who attended high school at San Beda University in Taytay, Rizal.

Roderick was in third place coming off the bike leg but dropped down the pack in the run.

Nayre first pulled off a demolition job on the higher-ranked Nicolas Burgos of Chile, 11-9, 6-11, 11-9, 11-6, 11-8, but couldn't stand against Kolodziejczyk in a in a span of seven hours held at the Table Tennis Arena of the Technopolis.

There was a huge funfair at the Games Village in the Villa Soldati neighbourhood in the south of Buenos Aires to usher in the Games.

Xu was pragmatic about his defeat and believes he'll learn from it.

The split has forced the first Filipino paddler in the YOG to do better in the next round where Nayre faces Rio Olympian and world No. 1 under-18 junior table netter Kanak Jha of the United States late Tuesday.
