Pet Sematary Trailer: What’s Dead Should Stay Dead

Pet Sematary Trailer: What’s Dead Should Stay Dead

Quick cuts add up to a lingering spine-tingle in the second adaptation of Stephen King's horror classic.

Pet Sematary's tagline insists that "sometimes dead is better", and now the first terrifying trailer is here to prove that. The catch: they come back evil.

The doctor turns to his neighbour Judd Crandall (John Lithgow) after a sudden tragedy. "They feared it. Those woods belong to something else".

"It may just be a insane folk tale", Jud says over clips of a funeral parade moving through the woods, an actual funeral taking place, Gage banging on a window, Dr. Creed waking up with dirt covering his feet, and a man in a hospital bed grabbing at Dr. Creed. Something that brings things back.

Just like Church the cat, Stephen King's book "Pet Sematary" has been revived for another round of on-screen terror. It's being directed by Kevin Kölsch and Dennis Widmyer, and will be released in 2019.

The original movie, which came out in 1989, was famously shot in and around Bangor, per King's stipulations upon selling the rights to the book, with locations including Mount Hope Cemetery and the University of ME campus. Below, check out an old trailer for the first one. Instead, it'll hone in on what makes the story so horrifying. The latest spooky story to get the remake treatment is Mary Lambert's 1989 Pet Sematary, based on King's 1983 novel.

The film is now scheduled to be released on 5th April, 2019.
