Christensen: I’m in a bad situation at Chelsea

Christensen is on international duty

However, Maurizio Sarri's arrival and a switch to a back four has seen Christensen make just three starts this term - and he is yet to appear in the Premier League.

He added: "I can not show so much patience again". To be honest, it has been very hard, ' Christensen told BT.

The 22-year-old made 40 appearances for the west London club in 2017-18 in what was considered a break out year.

'In the last three seasons, I've played regularly with every team I've been with, so it's clear that I do not see myself staying if my current situation remains the same.

"It's too early to talk about change for now, and when that might happen, but it's clear that this is not a good situation for me".

"But right now it looks hard".

"It's a gift for the team, but for me personally it has been a hard start of the season".

"If everything goes well, I think I will renew before the end of this month, in the coming days". We play really good football, explosively and offensively all you can wish for. "So it's great in that sense, but it's really frustrating that I'm not on the pitch".

Christensen first linked up with Chelsea in 2012 after seeing his obvious potential noted within the youth ranks at Brondby.

The 22-year-old defender joined the Stamford Bride outfit in 2013 but spent two seasons (2015-17) at German League side Borussia Mönchengladbach.

"We used the ball a lot and they wanted to play football".

The Dane wouldn't say when he was going to move but understood that with the team playing well, it would be hard to get in.

Christensen signed a new long-term contract in January that commits him to Chelsea until June 2022.
