Samsung Unveils The First Smartphone With Four Cameras

How to enable developer options and USB debugging on Galaxy J4

Samsung has just introduced its very first smartphone with four rear-facing cameras, the Galaxy A9 (2018). However, the switch to quad cameras could come faster than we thought. Cameras on the rear side include a 24MP primary sensor with f/2.7 aperture, 8MP wide-angle sensor with 120-degree field-of-view, a 10MP telephoto lens which offers 2X optical zoom and finally a 5MP depth sensor to capture the depth information. Yes, the phone also ships with a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The horizontal camera system has a main 24-megapixel f/1.7 main camera at the top of the alignment, which is the sensor that will be used for generic images and low-light shots. Needless to say, the Galaxy A9 impresses quite a lot in the specifications and features department, so Samsung is actually staying true to its word that the Korean giant will incorporate high-end features on its mid-range lineup.

The Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) flaunts a 6.3-inch Full HD+ display on the front which carries a resolution of 1080×2220 pixels and 18.5:9 aspect ratio. The 128GB of storage is impressive, with the microSD card slot able to tack on up to an additional 512GB.

The Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) is a dual SIM (GSM) smartphone that accepts Nano-SIM and Nano-SIM.

The Galaxy A9 also features virtual assistant Bixby, Samsung Pay and Samsung Health. It will be available in Caviar Black, Lemonade Blue and Bubblegum Pink color options with gradient finish. Android 9 Pie-based Experience UI is in development, and it will be coming to the company's flagship phones soon, and the Galaxy A9 (2018) will receive it at some point as well, hopefully before the end of the year, but who knows.

You do lose out on a feature or two, such as wireless charging and the main camera only featuring one aperture. Prices are yet to be announced and models and prices will vary in different worldwide market.

Samsung states that the Galaxy A9 will be available in select markets starting from November but did not care to divulge the pricing details right now.
