Razer has unveiled its new US$799 Razer Phone 2

Razer Phone 2 officially announced along with a mobile gamepad

Finally, the handset was listed with a 5.72-inch LCD display sporting a QHD resolution and 120Hz refresh variable rate.

RAZER IS TAKING a second stab at the smartphone game with the reveal of the creatively-named Razer Phone 2.

Design wise, the Razer Phone 2 looks much like the original Razer Phone. To keep the 845 running as close to its peak speeds as often as possible, Razer incorporates a vapor-chamber cooling system that appears to stretch over most of the device's rear area. The Razer Phone 2 does not have a headphone jack but sports dual stereo speakers.

Though it is broadly the same in appearance, Razer has smoothed out and rounded the edges subtly and the new device is said to be more comfortable in the hand. The phone has a massive 8GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 2TB via micro SD card slot.

In spite of incremental improvements, the Razer Phone 2 unsurprisingly continues being touted as the ultimate option for mobile gamers. One of those sensors has an f/1.75 wide lens with optical image stabilization, while the other is a longer lens with an f/2.6 aperture.

The Razer Phone 2 comes with 645 nits of brightness and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on top of the display. The handset is also both wider and thicker (158.5 x 78.99 x 8.5 mm) than its predecessor (158.5 x 77.7 x 8 mm), so it stands to reason it's heavier as well, though its weight info has yet to be disclosed.

All told this will allow the Razer Phone 2 to handle the latest and greatest games easily. The rear Razer logo is now Chroma-enabled, meaning it supports a full range of colors and has fancy patterns like Razer's gaming peripherals. That should pair nicely with the glossy, presumably glass back. The 8MP f/2.0 front-facing camera and flash sit at the top, too. Razer pre-installs its mildly tweaked version of Android 8.1, and a good track record of updates for the original Razer Phone should reassure software-conscious buyers. It will be coming in Mirror and Satin versions priced at $799 (approx Rs. 59,500) and the Mirror version will be available for order in the US, Canada, UK, and Europe region initially starting today while the Satin version will be available later. Just a few days ago, Google unveiled the Pixel 3 phones, practically confirming every rumor that we heard in the past few months.
