Terence Crawford throws ridiculous punch at weigh

There has been friction between Benavidez and Crawford since February, when Benavidez accused the champ of ducking him.

Despite an acrimonious pre-fight buildup, Benavidez Jr. praised his opponent after the bout.

Benavidez Jr recovered but the fight ended in flurry of punches from Crawford, with the referee stepping in.

Crawford (34-0) was dominant throughout at the CHI Health Center in his hometown, and his first defence of the title ended in victory in the final round. The WBO welterweight champion expects Benavidez to respect him by the time things are settled in the ring Saturday night.

Benavidez, 26, was plenty frisky, motioning for Crawford to keep coming toward him even as it became apparent Crawford had taken control of the fight, and he showed renewed life in the 10th when he landed a couple shots. Crawford retaliated with a ridiculously fast punch but missed Benavidez, who leaned back to duck the shot. "I know I have what it takes to beat him, and I am going to beat him".

"I feel like he's a little anxious, to be honest with you", Benavidez said following a press conference on Thursday at the CHI Health Center in Omaha, Nebraska, the venue for Saturday's showdown. "Come Saturday, all the talking will be out the window". (IBF), Keith Thurman (WBA) and Shawn Porter (WBC).

"This is boxing. It happens".

In the co-main event, 2016 U.S. Olympic silver medalist and top featherweight prospect Shakur Stevenson of Newark, New Jersey, stopped Viorel Simion of Romania just before the bell ending the first round.
