NBA Announces Suspensions for Rockets vs Lakers Fight

Houston Rockets' Chris Paul second from left is held back by Los Angeles Lakers' Le Bron James left as Paul fights with Lakers' Rajon Rondo

The Houston Rockets defeated the Los Angeles Lakers, with the final score being 124-115. The Lakers' Brandon Ingram is expected to receive punishment as well, as he threw a punch and confronted official Jason Phillips during the fracas.

The Houston Rockets stole the rest with a gritty victory.

Houston Rockets head coach Mike D'Antoni is having a hard time comprehending why the National Basketball Association handed down a multiple-game suspension to point guard Chris Paul for his role in Saturday's brawl at Staples Center.

"The atmosphere was great", James said.

Paul and Rondo also traded blows, Paul claiming that he had shaken his finger in Rondo's face after the Lakers player spit at him. "Paul has been suspended for poking at and making contact with the face of Rondo, and throwing multiple punches at him".

Ingram, Paul and Rondo were all ejected. What happened was unacceptable. The Lakers play San Antonio on Monday. "I saw Chris Paul touch his face then go from there".

The game had to be stopped for over 10 minutes. It drew a stellar 3.7 rating in the Los Angeles market a.nd a 4.8 rating in Houston; the game spiked with a 2.9 during crunch time. He declined to comment on the fight after the game.

Last season, James averaged 27.5 points, a career-high 9.1 assists and 8.6 rebounds.

"Yeah, James was James".

Rockets Coach Mike D'Antoni disputed that, saying, "Some spit was thrown". "It had some intensity and quickness, and how fast it was".

The fight stemmed from an altercation between Lakers forward Brandon Ingram and Rockets guard James Harden. Lonzo Ball showed off his retooled jumper with four 3-pointers and 14 points.

"In the heat of the moment when somebody does that, that's tough, that's really tough", D'Antoni said.

James said the Lakers are a young team and it will take time to improve.
