Cowboys acquire WR Cooper from Raiders for first-rounder

ESPN's Adam Schefter and Josina Anderson reported on Monday the Cowboys traded for Amari Cooper.

The Cowboys desperately needed help at wide receiver.

Oakland, meanwhile, appears all-in on a rebuild and now will have three first-round picks in the 2019 NFL Draft after acquiring another first-rounder from the Chicago Bears in the Khalil Mack trade. Cooper will count around $4.5 million on Dallas' cap and he'll carry a $13 million hit next season.

The Cowboys are not alone; the Raiders have heard inquiries on Cooper from, among others, the Washington Redskins and Indianapolis Colts, according to a league source. How Mills deals with Cooper's ability to sell the double move, something he and the Eagles have struggled with.

Cooper, who suffered a concussion during Oakland's loss to Seattle in London on October 14, has just 22 catches for 280 yards and one touchdown in six games this season. He's no Odell Beckham, but he does give the Cowboys a reliable weapon that can hurt the Eagles where they're most vulnerable.

Cooper is in the NFL's concussion protocol, but the Raiders are on a bye this week and don't play again until October 28 against Indianapolis. He is expected to be able to play when the Cowboys return from their bye week to face the Tennessee Titans on November 5.
