Eddie Redmayne urges fans to refrain from 'Fantastic Beasts 2' spoilers

Along with members of the press, the fans, too, shared their views on the spin-off of Harry Potter series.

This utter destruction of the delicate continuity from the Fantastic Beasts series to the Harry Potter books could set a unsafe precedent for the remaining films in the franchise, as who knows how much more tinkering the producers might do to the fictional universe's set of rules. The film meshes the story of Newt Scamander with the characters and events from the original franchise, most notably through its inclusion of the feud between Albus Dumbledore and the notorious Gellert Grindelwald.

Fans have pointed out that McGonagall wasn't born until 1935 - almost a decade after the first Fantastic Beasts installment is set. Warner Bros. held the first screening of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald and the reviews are here. Others found it to be particularly dark, and a major improvement over the original Fantastic Beasts film. The film is produced by David Heyman, J.K. Rowling, Steve Kloves and Lionel Wigram.

But will Glascott's McGonagall go down well with fans, seeing as her character isn't even meant to have been born by the time of the new film?

Readers should note that it is still not clear how professor McGonagall will be shown in the upcoming film. It's possible she'll only make a small cameo, a nod to longtime Harry Potter fans who are watching. After her demonstration during the Battle of Hogwarts, we also know how skilled McGonagall is on the battlefield.

The cast of Fantastic Beasts 2 has just got a little bigger...

The much-anticipated sequel of the fantasy film, Fantastic Beasts, is about to hit the screens soon.
