Andromeda now plays in 4K on Xbox One X consoles

ME-TEMPEST-STATUE

Ever since Mass Effect: Andromeda failed to generate critical acclaim and sales, it seemed as though EA had placed the franchise on hold. N7 Day, as it's known, has become the official day of Mass Effect, thanks to the prominence the "N7" label has in the Mess Effect universe.

Today a new patch has been released for Xbox One X owners of Mass Effect: Andromeda that includes some enhancements for the game, though no real information is given other than its existence. Today, on N7 Day, BioWare discussed what was next for Mass Effect. Does the update significantly improve your experience?

For reference, Mass Effect Andromeda runs at 1800p resolution through checkerboard rendering on PlayStation 4 Pro hardware.

"It means coming into the studio everyday, dreaming about what the next great "Mass Effect" game will be", Hudson said.

Then he stares right into the camera for a long moment as he sips from a Mass Effect mug with the famous Commander Shepard line, "I Should Go", stenciled on the side. N7 Day used to represent a time when BioWare would get all chatty and nostalgic over its sci-fi series, but it's safe to say that here and now, in 2018, the enthusiasm from both the developer and the fans - ourselves included - isn't quite what it used to be.

Unsurprisingly, Mass Effect Andromeda also just got discounted on Xbox One. Would BioWare maintain the course set by the fourth game, which spins off from the original trilogy and takes place in a whole new galaxy, or would that game's rough reception lead to a whole new course?
