Facebook Messenger will let iPhone users unsend messages

While Facebook-owned WhatsApp gives you an hour to delete sent messages, Messenger isn't going to be so magnanimous.

The note states that users will be able to remove a message within 10 minutes of sending it "if you accidentally send the wrong photo, incorrect information or message the wrong thread". Said something embarrassing? Don't worry, you can unsend that Facebook message, but you better be fast!

Currently, while Facebook users can delete messages that they sent from their own inbox, the recipient of the message can still see them.

Facebook didn't announce the feature yet, but The Verge spotted it in the "coming soon" section of the release notes from Messenger for iPhone version 191.0.

The idea has been lobbied by Facebook since April after it was revealed the company had retracted messages sent by CEO Mark Zuckerberg and other company chief, TechRadar reported.

The long-awaited Unsend feature will hit Facebook Messenger soon.

But you'll only have 10 minutes, so you'll have to be quick.

Google's for Gmail allows users to choose how long they have to unsend an email.

Bottom line: Great news for people who take their phones with them on nights out: Facebook Messenger's long-talked-about unsend feature is nearly here.

Have you ever sent a message and immediately regretted it?
