Sarfraz Ahmed miffed with Taylor's 'chucking' gesture

Corey Anderson last played ODI in the 2017 Champions Trophy

New Zealand paceman Trent Boult claimed a hat-trick to help lead his side to a 47-run win over Pakistan in the first one-day worldwide in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday.

After a shaky start which left them at 78-3 late in the 17th over, the Black Caps rattled up 266-9 in their 50 overs.

Pakistan lost the last two matches in a 3-2 series defeat in United Arab Emirates (UAE) in 2014, before losing 2-0 in 2015, 2-0 in 2016 and 5-0 in January 2018 - all in New Zealand.

Sarfraz termed Taylor's gestures "disgraceful" and said they were not in the spirit of the game.

India won the Asia Cup by beating Bangladesh.

New Zealand made no official statement on their opinion of Hafeez's bowling in the series, with Boult brushing off any talks of a concern in his press addressal. Sarfraz was his usual busy self and although Imad focused more on resistance in the early part of his knock, successive maximums in the 36th over signalled Pakistan weren't going down without a fight.

The remaining matches are in Abu Dhabi on Friday and in Dubai on Sunday.

Pakistan then play South Africa in South Africa, Australia (in UAE) and England in England - five one-day internationals each - before the World Cup.

Trent Bolt of New Zealand celebrates his hat-trick with assistance from Kane Williamson and Tim Southee.

"There is no problem with Hafeez's action, his action is completely clear and I think the batsmen were trying to create an issue for no reason". He pointed out captain Kane Williamson's error in having just four fielders inside the circle and pounced on a free hit, and Pakistan needed 120 off the final 15.

The senior New Zealand batsman gesticulated with a bent arm during Hafeez's first over, in an apparent reference to the all-rounder's questionable action.

Pakistan: Sarfraz Ahmed (capt), Fakhar Zaman, Imam-ul-Haq, Mohammad Hafeez, Babar Azam, Shoaib Malik, Asif Ali, Haris Sohail, Shadab Khan, Faheem Ashraf, Imad Wasim, Hasan Ali, Junaid Khan, Shaheen Afridi, Usman Khan Shinwari.

Taylor (80 off 112 balls) and another recent arrival Tom Latham (68 off 64) anchored New Zealand's innings of 266-9 which stuttered late and almost saw another hat-trick.

It looked all over when legspinner Ish Sodhi snared Shadab Khan caught behind to a poor call from umpire Joel Wilson.

Match referee: Javagal Srinath (IND).

Tv umpire: Nigel LIong (ENG).
