Vijay's 'Sarkar' joins Rs 100 crore club in just two days

Vijay Getting Trolled for Imitating Pawan Kalyan

Meanwhile, the official figures of the day 1 collection are being awaited.

Of late, nearly all the films starring Vijay grossed Rs 100cr at the box office but the speciality about Sarkar is that it touched the magical number in just two days.

Abirami Ramanathan, President, Theatre Owners' Association, asserts that Sarkar has not just been Vijay's biggest opener but has had the best opening among all releases in recent years.

The film drew massive crowds across the globe. The festival release has been directed by AR Murugadoss and also stars Keerthy Suresh, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Yogi Babu and Radha Ravi among others. Looking at the buzz around the film, Sarkar will also pose a tough competition to Thugs of Hindostan in the South and global circuits, even though ToH is releasing in 7000 screens worldwide.

The reports doing the rounds suggest that Sarkar has created a new record in terms of opening day collection. Now, Tamil Nadu Minister Information and Publicity Minister Kadambur Raju has asked for the removal of certain scenes from "Sarkar". In the Telugu states, the dubbed version of the film opened to a first-day share of around Rs 2 crores which is exceptional for a Vijay starrer as his films haven't done so well in Andhra and Telangana in the past.

After the release of "Sarkar" movie, people have started to Google search for section 49P to know more about it.

This is not the first time that Vijay's films have run into trouble for their alleged political views.

He said, "The "Sarkar" scenes showing people throwing the Tamil Nadu government free appliances into fire should be removed voluntarily from the movie".
