Brendan Rodgers says Celtic supporters helped drive team to Europa League win

Rangnick was not impressed with what he said in the capital

When asked if it was his best and most satisfying win in Europe at home as Celtic manager, he agreed considering "the level of the opponent" and quality of performance. It goes through your mind in such a flash but I could see he was in the better position and I was delighted to see him tap it in. "We'll be ready to go again and everyone will have taken a massive lift from the result and the performance last night".

Domestic football will take precedence now as Celtic head to Livingston on Sunday afternoon, with Christie keen to head off on worldwide duty having helped the Parkhead side return to the top of the league for the first time this season.

Despite the insane amount of injuries Rodgers is having to deal with lately, he will know RB Leipzig will be facing a different Celtic side to the one that travelled to Germany in the previous round of fixtures.

"We showed no fear, had plenty of aggression and brought our identity to the game".

"It was just a brilliant night and it opens the Europa League group up for us now".

Bhoys supporters will be hoping their side can continue to ride that wave of positive energy, on what is a huge night under the lights at Celtic Park.

"People see pressure as negative, I said that the other day".

"If we're to progress or have any opportunity to progress out of the group, it's a game we really have to win".

'That's what we have been seeing this team returning to over the last six or seven weeks. So it's a fantastic victory and one I'm very proud of'.

Having seen his players show no sign of an inferiority complex, he added: 'That was particularly pleasing. You have to be really clear and tactically good to press that because they have the extra man inside. That's fundamentally where our game begins.

Rodgers had pointed out to his players before kick-off that "if it has gone against them a bit, sometimes the game has got away from us".

But Rodgers said: "The most important thing was to win and win well and I think we did that". "There are two games to go and we have put ourselves back in the mix".
