Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union Welcome Baby Girl After Secret Surrogacy

Gabrielle Union's Best Looks

Dwyane Wade missed the Miami Heat's 95-88 win against the San Antonio Spurs last night for "personal reasons", but he had a solid reason for his absence.

Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade have welcomed their first child together, a baby girl, via surrogate.

The couple both shared sweet photos of them cuddling up to the newborn, whose name is yet to be revealed. Welcome to the party sweet girl!'

The We're Going to Need More Wine author has been open about her fertility struggles and the difficulty of constantly fielding questions about her body and pregnancy throughout the years.

The couple took to their respective Instagram pages and posted pictures of the moment they met their baby girl with an accompanying cute caption.

The baby daughter is Wade's fourth child and first with Union. I never wanted children before Dwyane, " she wrote in the book. 'Then I became a stepmom, and there was no place I'd rather be than with them'. The Miami Heat player is already a father to sons Zaire, 16, Zion, 11, and Xavier, four, from previous relationships.

Wade, 36, married Union, 46, in August 2014.

Gabrielle also opened up in her book about how hard she found it being asked by other women whether she wants kids. "Everyone said, 'You're a career woman, you've prioritized your career, you waited too long and now you're just too old to have a kid - and that's on you for wanting a career.' The reality is I actually have adenomyosis". The couple also parent Wade's nephew Dahveon Morris.
