Marcus Peters of Los Angeles Rams tells Saints' Sean Payton 'keep talking'

Marcus Peters Michael Thomas

Los Angeles Rams cornerback Marcus Peters is fired up by some trash talk from Sean Payton and can't wait to face the New Orleans Saints again. So tell him keep talking that (expletive), and I hope he sees me soon.

Wide receiver Michael Thomas burned Peters a couple of times in the Saints' 45-35 victory over the Rams on Sunday.

"They were going to travel Marcus to him and that was fine by us", he said during the postgame presser.

Following the game, head coach Sean Payton stated how much the team liked the matchup between Peters and Thomas and those comments seemed to run Peters the wrong way.

Thomas caught 12 of 15 passes that he was targeted on.

After a few seconds to think about it Thursday, Peters had more to say about Payton.

"Yeah, because I liked what he was saying on the sidelines, too", Peters said. So tell him to keep talking that s--. "And then we're gonna have a nice little bowl of gumbo together". The Rams cornerback allowed six receptions on eight targets for 127 of Thomas' 211 yards and a touchdown.

There was a better chance Peters played quarterback next week than for him to remain quiet.

A rematch between these two teams in the playoffs would already be incredible, but Payton and Peters managed to somehow add even more intrigue to the potential clash. It might be worth it just to see if Peters and Payton had anything to say to each other after the game.
