Mazda teases its all-new 3 ahead of Los Angeles debut

Mazda has released a fresh teaser image giving us another glimpse of its new Mazda3, confirming the next-generation versions of the hatchback and sedan will debut at the 2018 Los Angeles Motor Show at the end of November.

With the presentation of the Mazda3, the Japanese will usher in their new generation of cars, as all subsequent models will likely be designed in a similar manner and use the new technologies.

The all-new vehicle is said to adopt a more mature interpretation of the company's Kodo design language.

The new 3 is based around a new version of the company's "Skyactiv" vehicle architecture, announced with the Kai concept a year ago, and promising a "considerably quieter and more comfortable ride".

For the time being, Mazda has only shared one picture and a short teaser video showing the latest Mazda3 model, heralding "a new era" for the automaker.

Mazda did not strictly confirm the new auto will have the compression-ignition gasoline engine it's been working on, but did say it would feature next-generation SkyActiv Vehicle Architecture, which improves sound deadening to reduce noise and vibration while adding more rigidity and space in the cabin. This will be the world's first series-produced petrol engine to use diesel-like compression ignition.
