Verizon restructures its prepaid plans

Verizon Prepaid's unlimited option, which normally costs $75 per month, now only costs $65 with the autopay discount in place, so there's even more of a discount there.

The new prepaid lineup is clearly an improvement for people who want service on what is still considered by many to be the best wireless network in the United States.

The carrier offers several different plans on Prepaid: $65 for Unlimited, $45 for 8 GB, $35 for 3 GB, and $30 for 500 MB. Verizons plans do include unlimited talk and text to over 200 worldwide destinations though. This discount is available on plans that cost $40 or more. That makes it $15 less expensive than Verizon's plan each month, which adds up to a substantial $180 annually.

This is great news for anyone looking to save some money in time for Christmas and helps Verizon stay competitive with a growing number of competitors offering prepaid and unlimited plans. Subscribers will "typically" get 480p video resolutions when streaming over mobile data; they'll also be limited to 3G network speeds when tethered.

The plan includes unlimited talk, text, and data, but also features a few caveats. T-Mobile responded with a limited-time promotion that offers a $50 prepaid deal. T-Mobile did not say when this prepaid promotion will end.

This isn't T-Mobile's only unlimited plan.

Each plan supports sharing your data allotment to other devices with mobile hotspot, save for the unlimited LTE plan, and both the 8GB and unlimited plans include free unlimited calling to Canada and Mexico.

More information is available on T-Mobile's website.
