Xiaomi officially enters the UK with the Mi 8 Pro

The company prides itself on replicating the technologies pioneered by its rivals in more affordable handsets, and has swiftly risen to become the fourth-largest smartphone maker globally.

If you want to pick the Mi 8 Pro up for yourself, it'll be available on November 9 at Three, Amazon, Argos, John Lewis, Carphone Warehouse, Currys PC World, Very, Gomobile, Mobile Phones Direct, Katana, and Mi.com. The rear cameras are backed by an LED flash. It can also be picked up SIM-free for just £99.

Pre-orders for the Redmi 6A from Three start tomorrow for delivery on November 21.

Assuming the Mi 8 we get here is the same as the one that's been released elsewhere it will come with a 6.21-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution, a Snapdragon 845 chipset, a choice of 64, 128, and 256GB of storage with 6GB of RAM (or 128GB wih 8GB of RAM), a 3,400 mAh battery, USB-C, Qualcomm Quick Charge 4, a dual 12MP rear camera array, and a 20MP front camera.

It's set to cost £499.99 in the United Kingdom, and you'll be able to get it exclusively on Three or from a variety of third-party retailers including Amazon, Argos, John Lewis, Carphone Warehouse and Xiaomi's new store in London if you're happy to buy the phone outright.

Xiaomi's flagship device will be available in Three stores and online on a range of 24-month contracts starting from £19 upfront and £22 per month, rising to £19 upfront and £46 per month for All You Can Eat (AYCE) data. The firm also launched the Band 3 - a cheap-as-chips wearable device boasting an OLED display and baked-in fitness features; and, er, an electric scooter. The company is opening a Mi shop on 18 November in Westfield, west London.

Wang Xiang, Senior Vice President of Xiaomi Corporation, said: "Today we witness a new chapter in Xiaomi's global expansion journey, underpinned by our global ambitions".

Prior to the company's official debut in the UK, Xiaomi already had a presence in the European market with Spain where the company has 10 stores. We are thrilled to make great strides by announcing our arrival in the UK.

As of today, Xiaomi is now sold in 74 markets worldwide.
