Michelle Obama kicks off book tour, chats to Oprah

NPR host Audie Cornish interviews former first lady Michelle Obama about her memoir Becoming in Chicago Ill. Nov. 2

Citing an advance copy of the book, the Post quoted her as saying the so-called birther movement, which falsely claimed President Barack Obama began life as a foreigner, was "crazy and mean-spirited" and could have put her family in danger. I need to talk about it. "What it speaks to is that democracy is still ours to own and control".

The moment she's referring to was the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, which took place on December 14, 2012.

Fox News host Tomi Lahren took a swipe at former First Lady Michelle Obama because she told the press that First Lady Melania Trump had not taken advantage of her offer of advice.

In her new memoir "Becoming", Obama wrote about struggling to smile during the inauguration.

Former first lady Michelle Obama will never forgive President Donald Trump for promoting a bigoted conspiracy theory that questioned whether her husband was born in the United States, the Washington Post reported on Friday. "And in the quest to do that I never stopped to wonder, who was I?".

Ever since Michelle Obama stepped into the spotlight during her husband's 2008 presidential campaign, she's become an inspiration to millions of Americans.

When she was a child, she said her dad would complain to her mother that she wasn't teaching her children how to wash socks, because he had had so few socks growing up that he had to wash them and dry them on a radiator himself.

"I don't want people on either party tearing each other up in the process of getting to the nomination", Obama added.

"

"I don't think we do each other a service by pretending like hurtful things don't hurt."

".

Perhaps in response to the book's headline-making revelation that Barack and Michelle have attended marriage counseling - a reaction she says she was expecting - she elaborated on the ways in which her relationship to the former president has affected her sense of self.

Obama's upcoming book, which is slated to be released on Tuesday, is expected to provide an in-depth look into Obama's life, both inside and outside the White House. "It's not that I'm nervous about my story but I hope that it inspires people and it encourages people and it starts a conversation".

Obama, who was eventually joined by her brother, Craig Robinson, also discussed past fertility issues and the fact that she feels her parents still favor Craig. She further alleged that the entire conspiracy was "deliberately meant to stir up the wingnuts and kooks" and constituted bigotry.

Obama also writes in "Becoming" about how she prevents herself from becoming cynical about the world today. "I was anxious about my grandkids".
