FBI Investigating Woman’s Suspicious Death On Board Cruise Ship

The FBI has joined local authorities in Aruba in investigating the death of an American woman who died on a Princess Cruises ship.

The Princess Cruises ship Royal Princess returned to Fort Lauderdale on Saturday morning days after an American woman fell to her death aboard the vessel. "The incident was reported to the Federal Bureau of Investigation and local authorities, and the local authorities met and boarded the ship upon arrival in Aruba".

A witness on the ship told MailOnline: 'We are sailing the southern Caribbean.

News outlets in Aruba said authorities are investigating the incident as a possible murder. An Aruba police Facebook post said the incident "probably does not give a natural death".

A spokesperson for the prosecutor in Aruba says an autopsy on the woman has been performed, but those results have not been released.

But one passenger has insisted, "It was two passengers they had a row in the casino that night". It will return to Fort Lauderdale on Saturday. "We felt bad for the victim obviously", a fellow passenger said.

Passengers shared pictures of the scene, including what appears to be a blood-stained lifeboat and shards of broken glass. Ten police officers came aboard.

A man was hauled off a cruise ship after a woman was allegedly choked and pushed off a balcony, severing her leg after the couple reportedly had a volatile altercation during a Caribbean getaway.

It is believed the woman plummeted from the 16th deck at around 4am, landing on a lifeboat on deck 7.

"This remains an active investigation by the FBI and we have not been provided an update from them", the cruise line said in statement Monday.

'It was reported to the local authorities who met and boarded the ship upon arrival.

'We are deeply saddened by this incident and offer our honest condolences to the family and those affected'.

A spokesman for Princess Cruises said the cause of death was not yet known.

Princess Royal departed Aruba at 10pm on Wednesday night, heading towards Kralendijk, Bonaire.
