With the 2019 Cricket World Cup looming, Australia's limited overs captain Aaron Finch has chosen to sit out next year's IPL, alongside all-rounder Glen Maxwell. As per reports, no cricketer has entered Rs 2 crore club.

While the newest addition are players from the Northeastern states, Uttarakhand and Bihar, there will also be 232 overseas players, who have thrown their hat in the ring.

South Africa leads the way in terms of players registered, with no less than 59 hailing from these shores, including Proteas speedster Dale Steyn, who is perhaps the most high-profile player in the running.

The eight franchises have a total available purse of Rs 145.25 crore. Bangladesh players and Ireland players have also been asked to head back home by April 15 and April 30, respectively.

Among the big Indian players, Jaydev Unadkat is the highest-listed player with a base price of INR 1.5 crore.

The West Indies and Sri Lanka have 33 and 28 registered players, with minnows, Afghanistan sporting a decent number with 27.

In the Rs 2 crore bracket list, there are no Indians and the list is populated by veterans of the game as well as find of the India-England Test series, Sam Curran.

All the franchises have been asked to submit their shortlist from the list of 1,003 by December 10, ahead of the auction.

Another notable development will be the absence of auctioneer Richard Madley, who became a regular feature during the IPL auctions over the years.
