Smartphones with in-display cameras will start popping up this month, with Samsung and Huawei both set to announce one before the holidays. The phone will have a new design with a display hole for the front camera.
On the other hand, Huawei Nova 4 will be launched on December 17 that will carry a very similar design. The company's Galaxy A8s smartphone has been in the works for quite some time, and the company has just announced that the phone will arrive on December 10.
Specifications should include Kirin 980 chip, 6 GB of RAM, 128 GB of flash memory, a triple main camera, a preinstalled Android OS 9.0 Pie in the form of firmware EMUI 9.0. Many believed the company would begin to launch those newly designed phones in early 2019, but to everyone's surprise, Samsung is now ready with a commercial model. The Galaxy A8s will support dual-band Wi-Fi, reveals the document which was even suggested by the FCC listing, so there's nothing much new to state here.
The Galaxy A8s will be the first Samsung smartphone to come with a hole in active display area for the front camera. The addition allows the companies to place front cameras and sensors at the top but some tech fans aren't happy with the look. The invite clearly shows the small punch hole-style hole on the top left corner that will house a selfie camera.
Samsung, which was expected to be the first smartphone maker to unveil a foldable smartphone was beaten by Royole, a startup that launched the FlexPai, a foldable smartphone. The phone will have a USB Type-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Unfortunately, there's no information yet on the exact screen size of its LCD display. Inside the chassis, the Galaxy A8s could boast either a Snapdragon 710 SoC or a Snapdragon 660 AIE processor. Huawei put 3 lenses on the back of the P20 Pro and Mate 20 series while Samsung has 4 on the Galaxy A9.
