Sandra Oh and Andy Samberg to host 2019 Golden Globe Awards

Canadian actress Sandra Oh and USA comedian Andy Samberg will co-host the 2019 Golden Globe Awards in January, organizers said in a statement on Wednesday. Oh top-lined the stellar spy-thriller Killing Eve over on BBC America, which saw the actress play an MI5 officer caught in the crosshairs of a deadly assassin named Villanelle (Jodie Comer).

While it is unclear if Samberg may be nominated in the Best Actor - Television Series Musical or Comedy category, many have speculated that Oh could be nominated for her work on Killing Eve.

"Sandra and Andy are the flawless choices to host this world-class event", Paul Telegdy and George Cheeks, co-chairmen of Globes broadcaster NBC Entertainment, said in a statement on Wednesday, adding they would bring "wit, charm and style" to the ceremony.

The actors, who have each won the coveted award, will take the stage in January in Los Angeles to present the show which honors exceptional talent in both film and television. "It's sure to be another unforgettable fun-filled night", co-chairmen of NBC Entertainment Paul Telegdy and George Cheeks said in a statement.

Added Mike Mahan, Executive Producer and CEO, dick clark productions. Since then, he has hosted four times, Fey and Poehler three times, with NBC's late-night stars Jimmy Fallon and Seth Meyers taking turns the last two years. Past year the show was helmed by Seth Meyers.

The show will air live on NBC at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. Previously, Oh starred as Dr. Cristina Yang on ABC's "Grey's Anatomy", for which she also received five Emmy nominations.
