"Aquaman" Sequel Already In Discussion At Warner Bros

Michael Fassbender as Magneto in X-Men First Class

The focus on the region seems to have produced exactly the results Warner Brothers was looking for, as the flick is now tracking for an opening weekend total in the neighborhood of $80 million dollars, according to Deadline's report. Considering Wonder Woman's box office (and pop cultural) performance, however, and how it potentially compares to Aquaman's, chances are pretty good that the guy who can talk to fish will be doing more fish-talking in a future film. With uncertain futures for both Batman and Superman, Wonder Woman is the franchise's current top star, with Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn making a strong push with her own film (she costars in Birds of Prey) coming soon.

Aquaman is still weeks away from release, but Warner Bros.is apparently quite confident that we'll want to see more.

The crowded holiday season will see Jason Momoa's aquatic superhero compete against Spider-Man and Transformers spinoff Bumblebee, also out December 21, as well as Disney's Emily Blunt-led family-friendly musical Mary Poppins Returns, out December 19.

Aquaman garnered a similar response in China, where users on Weibo - China's Twitter - praised the blockbuster for its awe-inspiring visuals and Wan's technical prowess behind the camera.

Wrote another user in a popular review, "He's a technical madman".

Aquaman is the first-ever big screen solo outing for the venerable DC Comics superhero introduced in 1941, although the character appeared as part of the titular ensemble in last year's Justice League. "I just wanted to stay in my seat and watch the film infinite times!" "So no matter what, he will push, prod, nudge, shove you, anything to get your attention, especially if you enjoy a quieter activity, like reading and on set I like to read".
