National Basketball Association fines Thompson $15K for flipping off fans

Tristan Thompson

The NBA announced it would be fining the player for the middle-finger gesture made towards hecklers at the end of the Cavs' victory at the Barclays Center.

Cleveland Cavaliers center Tristan Thompson has been fined $15,000 by the National Basketball Association "for making an inappropriate gesture toward a spectator" during Monday night's win in Brooklyn, the league announced on Friday.

Cleveland Cavaliers center Tristan Thompson (13) shoots beside Houston Rockets guard James Harden (13) in the third quarter at Quicken Loans Arena, Cleveland, OH, USA, Nov 24, 2018.

According to The Athletic's Shams Charania, the National Basketball Association has fined the Cleveland big man for flipping the bird at fans at Barclays Center.

Shortly after his performance, he joined the Cavs broadcast for a post-game interview and demanded "they better put some respect on my name".

He'd probably say it's worth the price.
