SpaceX launches cargo, but fails to land rocket

A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket and Dragon capsule blasted off from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station at 4:10

5 Dec company SpaceX successfully launched and put into orbit the Dragon truck with food and equipment for the global space station. Hans claimed that the water landing was pretty much smooth and today's incident showed how SpaceX's rocket are created to save itself in case if anything goes wrong.

SpaceX has a contract to ferry American astronauts to the space station as part of what's known as the Commercial Crew program with NASA, but the timeline for the first flights has slipped repeatedly. "If they're able to tow the booster back in, it's going to be the first time seeing one towed in like that". At 10:26 am PST (01:26 pm EST), SpaceX announced "Second stage engine burn complete".

"Dragon, you saw separate, and now the solar arrays coming out".

SpaceX successfully launched ISS cargo from Cape Canaveral in Florida this afternoon, and as it has 26 times in the past, planned to land its Falcon 9 rocket for reuse. SpaceX will likely spend some time to evaluate the damage before making a ruling, but it's probably a long shot.

"Some landing systems are not redundant, as landing is considered ground safety critical, but not mission critical", said Musk in another tweet.

Minutes after liftoff, the rocket's first stage separated as normal, but as that booster part prepared into position for landing, it appeared to lose control and started spinning. In addition, this should not distract from the fact that the launch itself went by the numbers.

Truck Dragon should dock with the ISS on 8 December. Canadarm2) to capture the Dragon spacecraft and attach it to the orbiting laboratory. Coverage will begin at about 02:00 a.m. PST (0:500 a.m. EST) with the capture expected to happen about 1 hour later.
