Nokia 8.1 Is Coming To Malaysia This Month for RM 1699

Nokia 8.1 Plus

Renders for the Nokia 8.1 Plus recently surfaced, and as you can see, the phone has a large, almost bezel-less screen with a small cutout in the top-left corner for its front-facing camera. The Nokia phone is also rendered with a 3.5mm headphone jack on the top and volume and power buttons on the right side of the frame.

Whether these renders really do give us a legitimate look at next Nokia flagship phone is still speculative at this point, but you can check out the new images in all their glory in the gallery below. So, the fingerprint sensor will not be in-display. The leak comes courtesy of 91Mobiles and OnLeaks, which have taken a CAD file and turned it into a render. Moving on to the back, expect a dual camera with Zeiss optics here.

As for its availability in Malaysia, the Nokia 8.1 will be heading to retailers in Malaysia on 18 January with a price tag of RM 1699. The hole punch seems like an improvement, but it's hard to tell since devices haven't launched yet. There is still a small chin at the bottom to show off the Nokia logo, but you won't find any traditional notch here.

Nokia 8 Sirocco users using Android 9 Pie will enjoy improvements to their smartphone experience based on their daily phone use. We will likely see this trend continue for another year or two, but most companies will be moving onto a different method of reducing the forehead bezel of smartphones. This could be the same hole-punch display that was featured in recently-leaked Nokia 8.1 Plus renders.
