Bird Box Monster From Cut Scene Revealed

The only way to survive is to make sure you never make eye contact with them - and now that I've actually seen what a scrapped version of this Bird Box creature looks like, I'm the one who's wishing I had a blindfold. Within the first seven days of its release on Netflix, Nielsen reports that it was watched by 26 million viewers in the USA alone. Here the inhabitants of the school are unharmed by the terror because of their disability, but in the book their final shelter is filled with people who have intentionally blinded themselves, confronting Malorie with the choice to blind herself and the children or to leave their blindfolds on. The final film doesn't reveal the monsters, instead choosing to keep them invisible.

It's been less than a month since Netflix released the much-watched and even more buzzed-about Bird Box, but the film has already become something of a cultural moment - something Stephen Colbert's satirical take on President Donald Trump's address last night further confirms.

This week, special effects artist Andy Berholtz finally gave fans a glimpse of what at least one of the monsters from the film was meant to look like, with tantalizing behind-the-scenes details of a deleted scene featuring the creature.

He also suggests that the "fatal "vision" each character sees would be different.

"It's amusing, I read an interview recently where Bullock described the creature as a "snake-like, green man with a horrific baby face". It was just a long fat baby", she said.

He went on to say that "In the end, I actually really liked the movie and think it was better off NOT showing the makeup". "Kudos to the director for sticking to her guns on that one".

The design for the creature was conceived out the fact that Bullock's character being pregnant when the events in the film kick off.

That was the scene that was eventually shot with the baby makeup, although Heisserer seems glad it was cut out.

Bier ultimately made the call to cut the scene from the movie, saying not seeing the monster made for an overall scarier experience as it forced the viewer to project their own worst fears into the movie.

"Everybody's deepest fear is going to be different from the other person", she explained.
