Meghan Markle’s half-brother arrested on drunk driving charge in Oregon

Thomas Markle Jr. has been arrested for drunk driving - just days after announcing his recent engagement, PEOPLE confirms.

Officers said he was visibly intoxicated when he was pulled over in the early hours of Friday in Josephine County. Smart Works is "a United Kingdom charity that provides high quality interview clothes and interview training to unemployed women in need".

E! News can confirm the 52-year-old was arrested for a DUI in the wee hours of Friday morning in OR, as first reported by TMZ.

Thomas Markle Jr., estranged brother of Meghan Markle, writes Prince Harry a letter urging him to cancel his upcoming nuptials saying it would be the 'biggest mistake in royal wedding history'.

His Chevy Silverado was impounded and he was then taken to the Grants Pass Sobering Center.

The wedding is slated to take place in Reno or Las Vegas.

"They say his impairment was obvious", the outlet reported.

'My son has a serious problem and he needs help, and I hope he gets it, ' Mr Markle Sr told TMZ. "It's hopeful that if Meghan and Harry came and my father, Meghan and Harry could spend some time together with him and that would be good". Thomas Sr., who often makes headlines for speaking out about his famous daughter, is also the father of Thomas Jr. and 54-year-old Samantha.
