Blake Griffin torches the Clippers in his long-awaited return to Los Angeles

On Saturday, the Pistons star made his first return to Staples Center since being traded from the team back in January 2018.

Ballmer waited on the sideline for Griffin to finish his early warmups and as Griffin began walking off court, Ballmer stuck out his right hand.

Needless to say, Griffin still isn't over the trade that sent him to Detroit less than seven months after he signed a five-year deal to stay with the Clippers. Griffin took off running into the tunnel. Griffin did not even look at Ballmer before breaking into a trot and heading for the locker room.

UPDATE: After the Pistons' 109-104 win over the Clippers, Griffin addressed his quick exit off the court, saying running off straight to the locker room is part of his pregame routine, adding "I don't change that for anybody".

Griffin was greeted with cheers during pregame introductions and received a standing ovation after a first-quarter video tribute.

The starting lineup for the Clippers included two players who came to Los Angeles in the Griffin trade; forward Tobias Harris and guard Avery Bradley. The five-time All-Star had assumed he would be a Clipper for years to come. The Clippers traded him in January 2018 to Detroit for Avery Bradley, Tobias Harris, Boban Marjanovic, the No. 12 pick in the 2018 National Basketball Association draft and a 2019 second-round pick.

The 29-year-old forward is averaging a career-high 25.1 points and 8.3 rebounds.
