Xiaomi Redmi 6 price slashed in India, now starts at Rs 7,999

After slashing the prices of Redmi Note 5 Pro, Mi A2, Redmi Y2, Redmi 6 Pro Xiaomi now reduces the price of Redmi 6 in India.

Xiaomi has been celebrating its fifth anniversary in India with five surprises for its fans.

Xiaomi has used a 4000mAh battery in the Note 7 and it supports Qualcomm's fast charge technology. Clearly, the Note 7 brings some pretty high-end specs to the budget smartphone table, so the pricing in India will be a matter of some interest. The last offer from Xiaomi is a price drop on the Redmi 6. Both the variants if the Redmi 6 with the new price will be available on Mi.com, Mi Home, Flipkart and offline stores.

The Redmi Note 7 comes in three options which include the 3GB+32GB version priced at 999 yuan ($147), the 4GB+64GB version which sells for 1199 yuan ($176), and the 6GB+64GB version which comes with a 1399 yuan ($206).

While there are no further details on whether it will sport a dual camera setup like the one on Redmi Note 7, Sheth said there are no plans of launching smartphones with triple cameras or hole in the screen for the front camera, which has allowed some brands to achieve the highest screen to body ratio. After the price cut the 3GB RAM/32GB model of the phone now retails at Rs 9,999 while the 4GB/64GB storage variant of Redmi 6 Pro has been reduced to Rs 11,999. It uses "pixel binning" to combine four adjacent pixels into one for low-light shots. It also comes with EIS for more stable videos. The latter employs the octa-core Meditek Helio P22 SoC with 12nm architecture with clock speeds up to 2.0GHz. The device also gets dual VoLTE and dual standby.

The Xiaomi Redmi 6 runs Android 8.1 (Oreo) with MIUI 9 on top, which can be upgraded to MIUI 10, it also comes with Dual SIM (nano + nano + microSD) connectivity.
