‘Game Of Thrones’ Releases Bone-Chilling Trailer, Release Date For Final Season

Game of Thrones 8

Details on the final season of Game of Thrones are of course scarce. Game of Thrones will officially return to HBO on April 14, 2019.

Mark your calendars, Game of Thrones fans, because the premiere date for Season 8 has finally been revealed.

Fans have eagerly awaited the six-episode finale of the show since Season 7 of the popular HBO show ended in August 2017.

They each pass the statues of Ned and Catelyn Stark as viewers here voiceovers from both of the beloved characters from seasons past.

It's interesting to note that Bran Stark is not present among the siblings in this promo, nor is his voice heard among those passed in the crypts. Technically, Jon's real name is Aegon Targaryen but he is a Stark by blood thanks to his mother Lyanna.

"You are a Stark". The three then come together and confront three statues in their likeness, before the torches blow out and a chilly mist creeps through the crypts. There is plenty to speculate on, but what we do know for certain is that Season 8 will consist of a mere 6 episodes, however, they will all be extended in length.

When we last visited Westeros, it was in a precarious position as the Night King's wight army destroyed the Wall (with their very own undead dragon) and marched freely into Westeros. After almost seventeen months of waiting for a new episode of the beloved fantasy series (suffering through our own version of author George R.R. Martin's Long Night), we finally know when Game of Thrones season 8 will premiere, thanks to a new teaser featuring the Stark children who have gathered at Winterfell walking through the crypts.
