The final 'Game of Thrones' season airs April 14

Game of Thrones released an all-new season 8 teaser video Sunday night, plus revealed its official premiere date.

This eighth season is only six episodes long, which means the finale should be on May 19 if HBO doesn't skip any Sundays.

HBO made the announcement ahead of True Detective season three's premiere, along with a new and chilling Stark-centric teaser, which you can find below.

Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) and Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) are wandering in the crypts of Winterfell, where once their father Ned Stark was seen having a conversation with Robert Baratheon.

Game of Thrones returns on HBO April 14 in the US. That represented a surge of more than 35% compared to the corresponding episode the previous season.

The teaser doesn't have any new footage of the finally season, but it's still a cool way to tease what's to come.

After spending months teasing us with quick peeks, HBO has finally given us a proper glance at what's in store for the final season, which premieres in the United States on April 14.

While we don't know what's in store for Jon and the rest of our favorite living Thrones' characters, if the final season is anything like it was for the cast filming it, we're in for a brutal six weeks.

HBO kicked off the year with calculated Game of Thrones hype, starting with a four-second clip snuck into an ad during the Golden Globes.
