Man Forges Kanye West's Signature to Steal $900K from Fashion Brand

The publication notes that the identity theft was undertaken by one of Kanye's former friends and an associate of G.O.O.D.

Kanye West is reportedly the victim of a signature forgery scandal. He reportedly began negotiations with the designer and asked $900,000 for Yeezy's performance at the event - which was never going to happen. The rapper and spoken word poet associated with Kanye allegedly "misrepresented himself to Plein as Kanye's rep" to book the performance that 'Ye had no knowledge about.

"It gets worse. We're told the guy forged Kanye's name on the contract and then had a $900,000 advance wired to an account ... which the guy promptly cleaned out". Music. Philipp Plein now has two problems; he's not getting a Kanye West appearance and he's out of almost $1 mil.

The Blast also reports that an additional $150,000 was wired to Burundi Partlow Consulting, which is a Chicago-based company. Kanye also received none of the money, reports say.

TMZ even obtained what appears to be a contract document showing a Kanye West signature, presumably forged by the individual in question.

West was to perform three songs with an orchestra and bring with him six children affiliated with a charity that West co-founded and named after his late mother, according to a contract reviewed by The Blast. Unfortunately we too were affected by this misrepresentation.

Kanye has yet to release an official statement (or what is more likely, to tweet), but the news has already sent social media into meltdown.
