Oreo, raccoon who inspired Rocket, dies

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY

Rocket eventually appeared as a member of the Guardians of the Galaxy in 2008.

In their Facebook post, the family thanked "our wonderful vets for their compassion and care", adding that their furry friend "made so many people's lives happy" and has "been an incredible ambassador for raccoons everywhere".

Oreo died after a short illness early on Thursday morning, the Facebook post says. You just enjoyed everything and it showed.

For more on Rocket Raccoon, read our review of the solo comic Rocket Raccoon #1, which we called "Amazing" saying "Rocket #1 offers a surprisingly effective and well-rounded take on the furry hero's solo adventures".

They continued: 'It's 10 years since you arrived in our lives.

'We whizzed back up the motorway and spent hours trying to get you and your siblings to drink from a bottle.

Oreo The Racoon was nine years old.

'This is so hard special little man, we wanted you to live forever but never as you have been the last few days.

In an interview with MTV News, Chris Pratt discussed "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3", which he has confirmed is in pre-production by Disney with a script from James Gunn, the director the company fired from the project. Have fun up there over the Rainbow Bridge my darling.

Oreo was used to help animators at Marvel Studios capture natural movements and behaviours of the species when they created Rocket, an anthropomorphic raccoon voiced by Bradley Cooper. I'm loyal to James and I love him so much.

Sweet Rabbit, rest in peace.
