Trump, not particularly vigilant about diet, to get physical exam

President Trump has not followed his doctor's exercise and diet plan to the letter, the White House said before his annual medical check-up today.

President Donald Trump, who delights in confounding health experts with his junk food cravings and disinclination to exercise, underwent an annual medical checkup Friday.

"I am happy to announce the President of the United States is in very good health and I anticipate he will remain so for the duration of his Presidency, and beyond", Conley said in a memo after the physical.

US President Donald Trump gives a thumbs-up as he walks from Marine One upon arrival on the South Lawn of the White House in Washington, DC, January 7, 2018, after spending the weekend at Camp David, the Presidential retreat in Maryland. Trump was said to have "incredibly good genes". But the president was directed to try to lose 10 to 15 pounds (4.5 to 6.8 kg) by eating better and starting to exercise. The Trump administration also submitted his name to increase his naval rank from rear admiral to two-star admiral. Trump has admitted that he has not hewn closely to his diet plan.

The White House was then accused of allegedly skewing Trump's physical exam results by CNN medical correspondent Sanjay Gupta.

"The president received a diet and exercise plan past year after his annual physical, but the president admits he has not followed it religiously", White House spokesman Hogan Gidley said.

At last year's physical, Trump weighed 239 pounds (108 kg) at last year's physical.

Last year's physical drew incredulous reactions, as Jackson told assembled reporters in the press briefing room that Trump was in excellent health, despite facts in direct contradiction to that statement, such as Trump's borderline obesity.

Last year, the public learned details about Trump's height, weight, heart rate, blood pressure and cholesterol levels. A cognitive assessment was normal.
