Fortnite now lets you merge accounts on different platforms

New World MMO 4 via Amazon 2019

The inciting incident of the PlayStation cross-play fiasco has finally been resolved in Fortnite.

It's finally time, console-gaming Fortnite fans.

Here's the biggest one: the merging tool will only help Fortnite players who are still dealing with the aftereffects of those cross-platform problems. If you've purchased V-Bucks or items on a platform you don't play with regularly, you can now bring everything into your primary account.

The Secondary account's console login will be immediately linked to your Primary account.

It's a relatively straightforward procedure that involves choosing two accounts.

Eventually, Sony relented and opened up multiplayer cross-play between PS4 players, and gamers on Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch - but the accounts were still separated. Accounts must have been played before September 28, 2018 in order to be eligible.

Your account must not now be banned or disabled.

The next steps will be permanent, so make sure you select the correct account. One primary account must be selected and one secondary account must be selected. Just to be clear, the wording specifies that the second account is disabled.

Everything from the Battle Royale mode will merge to the main account while only selected things from Save the World will come across: llamas, defenders, heroes, schematics, survivors, XP, evolution, and perk materials.

As for the actual Fortnite account merging, it's an incredibly easy task.

Go to the Epic Games Account Merge page.

Sign in to the primary account. Then, log into your secondary account (the one that you want to transfer all of your contents from).

Sign in to the secondary account.

Verify the merge through email addresses. This means that all the cosmetic items and V-Bucks that you've earned across platforms will be conveniently gathered in one place.

Epic highlight that other items such as Unreal Marketplace items, Creative Islands, and Save The World account levels and progress will not be merged over from your secondary account and will be gone, potentially forever, upon the successful merger of your accounts.

The first stage of the process is heading over to the Epic Games website and selecting the merge account option.
