Kendrick Lamar, Drake and Childish Gambino reportedly turned down the Grammys

The GRAMMYs seem to have an issue with performers this year, yesterday Ariana Grande pulled out of the show due to creative differences. With controversy brewing, many are wondering if the organizers will be able to pull off the event at all.

Tributes to Aretha Franklin and Dolly Parton are also planned, alongside a Diana Ross performance in honour of her 75th birthday and her musical achievements.

That's according to Ken Ehrlich, the show's longtime producer. She was told that it could only be featured in a medley and that they would design the it. Grande declined to perform and stayed relatively quiet about the ordeal.

"I've kept my mouth shut but now you're lying about me". There's allegedly a bit of drama between Grande and The Recording Academy.

Looming predictions of rain could also put a damper on this year's awards ceremony. The video shows her breaking the news to her family, including her husband Swizz Beatz, a Grammy victor in his own right, whom she appears to have awakened.

Either way, fans of the award ceremony are confused by the pick.

Join PeopleTV live on the red carpet at Clive Davis and the Recording Academy's iconic pre-Grammy Awards gala on Saturday night. It's a odd decision considering Smokey Robinson, Diana Ross and Bruno Mars will all be in attendance for the event. That isn't the case this year. It would be recalled the 2018 Grammy awards, Jay-Z who had the highest nominations with eight nods failed to go home with a single award.

Chances are you will not see Childish Gambino, Drake, or Kendrick Lamar take centre stage at Sunday's Grammys.

Ehrlich told CNN that the three were offered performance spots, but all declined.

As we count down to the 61st Annual Grammy Awards, we're talking to the woman who will be at the center of music's biggest night: host Alicia Keys.
