Nintendo plans new features to make Switch Online more appealing

Nintendo President, Shuntaro Furukawa, responded to the question about the revision, blaming insufficient efforts to convey the console's appeal to a high number of people.

A Nintendo Direct is rumoured to be arriving next Wednesday, which will confirm the existence of Metroid Prime Trilogy on Nintendo Switch.

If you head to the Nintendo eShop on your Switch console, you'll find discounts on a number of co-op and competitive titles like Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, Diablo III, Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection, Pocket Rumble, Super Meat Boy, Windjammers, or Federation Internationale de Football Association 19 - with some titles like Crypt of the NecroDancer seeing as much as 80% off their initial retail prices.

If you're wondering why you should believe this rumour, Zell has a successful track record when it comes to Nintendo - having given information about Pokémon: Let's Go before last year's reveal event, and hinting at Animal Crossing on Switch before its official announcement. In North America, Nintendo Switch Online service starts from $4.99 per month.

"We are now planning ways to boost the appeal of the service on a yearly basis".

Nintendo's director Shinya Takahashi echoed these sentiments by saying Nintendo is "preparing various new offerings for consumers who subscriber to the service". He re-iterates that many 3DS owners are buying it as their "first game system", given its "desirable price point", and once again says that there is room for both the 3DS and Switch in the current market.
