Apple to announce a new subscription-focused service on March 25th

According to an earlier report, AirPods 2 will offer better sound quality, aesthetically look the same when compared to its predecessor and come in a black color option with a rumored tag of $199.

AirPower is based on the Qi charging standard, which powers wireless chargers for Android and iOS smartphones alike.

The report from My Smart Price also claimed that the long-awaited AirPower wireless charging mat would finally be released in the next few months, alongside a "wireless charging case for the first-generation AirPods".

The latter, it now seems, is most likely. The publication notes that it is unlikely that the company will talk about any physical products at the March event, including the AirPods 2 or the rumoured next-generation iPad mini.

Now, OnLeaks does caution that his source is "new and yet unconfirmed but seemingly reliable" so a little caution is probably wise all the same. If you're waiting for the new AirPods, they won't be arriving until the fall, it's suggested.

Notably absent from AirPods 2 is improved battery life, as the second-generation headphones are expected to have the same longevity as the original version of five hours.

News publishers are also concerned over the lack of access about the customer information from Apple as they would like to use that date to market their products to the customers directly. That will apparently include new sensors focused on health tracking.

A new rumor has surfaced, stating that Apple plans to hold a product launch where it will showcase not one, but three different devices. That's been one of the most persistent requests - not to mention given third-party color companies an opportunity to make fairly expensive custom AirPods - and could well prove to be a strong motivator to encourage upgrades.
