Meghan considering 'legal action' against her father over leaked letter

George and Amal Clooney at the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's wedding

Harry and his elder brother Prince William, the second in line to the throne, have had a strained relationship with the press since their mother, Princess Diana, was killed in a auto crash in Paris in 1997 while being chased by paparazzi on motorbikes.

George Clooney is frustrated by the way the media is treating Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, comparing it to how the media covered Princess Diana.

Meghan Markle is reportedly deciding whether or not she will take legal action against Thomas Markle.

Clooney, who was promoting his new television series Catch-22, slammed the invasion of her privacy.

Clooney told reporters that Meghan is "a woman who is seven months pregnant and she has been pursued and vilified and chased in the same way that Diana was and it's history repeating itself".

The actor, who is a friend of the British royal and her husband Prince Harry and attended their royal wedding with his wife Amal last May (18), gave the warning after United Kingdom tabloid the Mail on Sunday published a letter Meghan reportedly wrote to her estranged father, Thomas Markle. And we've seen how that ends.

"I can't tell you how frustrating that is", Clooney said.

He published the personal correspondence from his daughter, in which she pleaded with him to stop talking to the press.

And after months of remaining silent, Meghan chose to try and squash her father's penchant for speaking out publicly by sending him a handwritten letter, begging him to stop. "She's getting a raw deal there, it's irresponsible".

Historian Kate Williams adds: "That's why it's Duchess' throughout the Royal Family - because she [Camilla] is a Duchess".

The letter in question, which Markle wrote to her father in 2018 after he continued giving interviews to the press and was first alluded to in an interview with alleged close friends of the Duchess in People, was made public over the weekend when Thomas Markle shared it with The Mail on Sunday. "I'm sort of surprised by that".
