Apex Legends: Respawn Working on Crashes and Cheating, But Not Reconnects

New Apex Legends Characters

Apex Legends players have been grinding away in Respawn's highly-successful battle royale.

These menu-oriented leaks extend to callouts for the Battle Pass, including an icon for what's labeled as the free Battle Pass, the paid one which appears to be called Diamond, and a "details_box", which may be a pop-out menu talking about the perks of upgrading to the paid Apex Legends Battle Pass. We are adding a report feature on PC to report cheaters in game that goes directly to Easy-Anti-Cheat.

"The service works but the fight against cheaters is an ongoing war that we'll need to continue to adapt to and be very vigilant about fighting", they say.

Apex Legends players are chomping at the bit to see what Respawn has in store for the game's Season 1 Battle Pass.

Aside from that, the anti-cheat team is going to be scaled up and have more dedicated resources.

At a high level, Respawn said it has already begun communicating with anti-cheat experts within EA and outside of it.

Another significant complaint among players that isn't tied directly to cheaters is the matter of quitters. They could be utilized for different game modes, or they could be there just to act as encouragement or as a hindrance to players. "We are very aware of the cases of players spamming during character select and the drop and then disconnecting shortly after".

For game stability, Respawn will be hosting representatives from AMD in the coming week and working with them to improve PC client stability.

PUBG and Fortnite have had a problem with scripts running loose on their servers, and Apex Legends is no stranger to this scourge either.

That's a hell of a lot of Legends waiting in the wings, but of course, Respawn may not have plans to release all of them.

Respawn says its also working on addressing the issues of character selection spammers. The studio is looking into the matter, but it might not be a simple, quick fix.
