Mario Day returns on March 10 with half off select Switch games

MAR10 Day

March 10th holds a special place in pop-culture, much like May 4th, March 14th, and other calendar days.

Unfortunately, this year's Mario Day is on a Sunday, meaning some fans may miss the celebrations. Fret not as Nintendo has a promotion for you as well.

Gold Points are earned from game purchases and can be redeemed for any reward that requires them. To encourage folks to throw a Mario Day party of their own, Mario-themed invites and bingo cards are also available, as well as themed envelopes ideal for holding Nintendo eShop Cards - they make great party gifts!

If you've yet to buy a Switch, we admire your willpower. On March 10, the Japanese gaming giant will again celebrate everyone's favorite Italian plumber with its annual Mario Day observance (March 10 - Mar10, get it?). "Get it?" Nintendo posted today. The Nintendo Switch system + one Mario game promotion will be available in store and online at participating retailers, while the individual Mario game sale is exclusive to participating retailers that sell digital download codes. Race friends through colorful tracks using iconic characters like Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Bowser, and even Link from The Legend of Zelda series and the Inklings from Splatoon.

Various retailers are taking part in MAR10 Day discounting many products linked to the Super Mario franchise. U Deluxe and Mario Tennis Aces.

Unfortunately, most of the other game deals appear to be hosted in North America, meaning United Kingdom fans may miss out on some discounts.

Amazon, for the record, is also offering that $20 discount on digital games, while you can find the console deal at retailers like Walmart, Target, and GameStop.

This includes Super Mario Party, Super Mario Odyssey, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Mario Tennis and New Super Mario Bros. We rarely ever see deals on the console too, though Nintendo's other currently-running offer of the Nintendo Switch + $35 eShop Credit is a stellar deal too that technically offers $5 more in savings.
