Apple to unveil its video streaming service on March 25

The new service will give Apple device owners free access to the company's new original content, and it will also come with a Channels system that allows users to subscribe to platforms like HBO via an additional subscription.

BuzzFeed News reporter John Paczkowski points out that Apple also used the slogan for a 2006 event to preview Apple TV.

Apple has long hinted at a planned video service, spending US$2 billion in Hollywood to produce its own content and signing major stars such as Oprah Winfrey.

Just days after Apple confirmed its March 25th "show time" event by sending out invites to members of the press, a new Bloomberg report helps to shed light on Apple's short-term plans for its TV service. In addition to a video service, there have been rumors that the company will use the event to announce a magazine service that will expand on its existing Apple News product.

The company is expected to focus on its new services at the event.

However, it's possible Apple may announce at least one new updated piece of hardware into the March 25 event. It would be competing directly with the widely popular services like Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, etc.

For two years Apple has been signing up the best talent, including Sony Pictures' Zack Van Amburg and Jamie Erlicht, and greenlighting dramas, comedies, thrillers and sci-fi series with top names from Steve Carell to Jennifer Aniston, as it looks to make a mark in the TV streaming industry. Apple is said to charge $10 to its consumers for the premium news subscription services. Previously, the company has launched the iPhone SE, the budget $329 iPad and the 9.7-inch iPad Pro.
