Bears to sign safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix

The Chicago Bears are going all Crimson Tide on the back end of their defense for the 2019 National Football League season.

Pro Bowl safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix agreed to a one-year deal with the Chicago Bears, a source confirmed to ESPN.

The bad news is that the Packers soured on him, and Clinton-Dix was up and down in nine games with Washington last season.

His agreement with the Bears, first reported by the NFL Network, comes after the team lost starting safety Adrian Amos to the Green Bay Packers in free agency.

He was college teammates with Eddie Jackson for one season at Alabama, and now they're reunited in the secondary in Chicago.

On Oct. 30, Green Bay sent Clinton-Dix to the Washington Redskins seven games into the 2018 season for a fourth-round draft choice. He didn't have an interception with Washington but almost doubled his tackle rate to finish with 66 in nine games with the Redskins.

Clinton-Dix might not have the consistency that Amos provided, but he has the potential to add more impact plays to a Bears defense that thrives off of turnovers.

Over four and a half seasons with the Packers, Clinton-Dix tallied 390 tackles, 14 interceptions and 5.5 sacks.
