How An iPhone Saved A Man From Bow And Arrow Attack

The arrow pierced through the victim's smartphone causing it to hit him in the chin police said

NSW Police confirmed in a statement that officers were called to the 43-year-old's Nimbin home at around 9am yesterday following the alleged altercation.

Police say the victim was taking a photo of the man, who is known to him, when he fired the ranged weapon, hitting the phone.

When the unnamed man raised his iPhone to photograph the attacker, he fired an arrow at him that pierced right through the device.

The incident took place on Wednesday morning (March 13) in Nimbin, a hippy town around 750km north of Sydney known for hosting the annual MardiGrass marijuana festival.

An Australian man had a lucky escape while confronting a man armed with a bow outside his home, as a loosed arrow pierced the mobile telephone he was holding to take a photograph of the incident, Australian police said on Thursday.

While the arrow also hit the resident in the chin, it only left a small laceration which required no medical treatment.

Police attended the scene and arrested the 39-year-old archer, charging him with armed intent to commit and indictable offence, actual bodily harm and malicious damage.

He was granted conditional bail to appear in Lismore local court in mid-April.
