Marvel Studios Producing "What If" Animated Series For Disney Plus

Marvel reportedly developing 'What If?' animated anthology series for Disney+

Details on whether the series will adapt more stories from the comics (aside from the tale mentioned earlier) or create entirely new scenarios are now unknown, though they will be based on what fans have seen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as opposed to comic book canon.

Marvel is reportedly developing an animated series for Disney+ according to Slashfilm.com based on the Marvel What If... series of comics. As per a media release by Disney, it looks like we are just around a week away from the acquisition being finalised.

Marvel Studios and Kevin Feige are set to develop a "WHAT IF" Animated TV Series for Disney+.

One of the quirkier corners of the Marvel Comicbook universe is the anthology series What If, which allows writers and artists to speculate on alternate universe versions of characters and stories for one-off titles.

Marvel Studios could be looking to tackle the What If comics for Disney's upcoming streaming platform, Disney+.

Disney is making it really hard to not take their upcoming Disney+ streaming service seriously. The reason has to do with the subject matter-mainly because Marvel's What If series exists within a fringe corner of the universe. But if it's placed in direct competition with more well-known movies and tv shows, the series will fall under the radar before fans can give it a chance. Coupled with over 20 movies and the multiple shows within the Marvel Cinematic Universe already, there are many sources to pull from that will help make the animated What If series incredibly entertaining and keep it running for a long period of time. Because of that, What If has a better shot at making a positive impression on fans if it debuts on Hulu rather than Disney Plus.
