Conor McGregor Sued by Alleged Victim after Smashing Phone

Conor Mc Gregor is now facing a civil suit in addition to criminal charges from a Miami nightclub incident

He alleges that Conor "tricked" him by going in for a handshake, only to grab his phone and smash it to the ground. For the incident, McGregor was arrested and charged with felony strong-armed robbery and criminal mischief. The fan, Ahmed Abdirzak, attempted to take a photo of McGregor outside of a club at the hotel at 5 a.m. McGregor allegedly smacked the phone out of Abdirzak's hand before stomping on it on the ground.

The victim was surrounded by McGregor's security while McGregor took the phone, got into his auto, and left the scene.

Chiesa then sued McGregor in court seeking damages for his injuries as well as missed opportunities suffered after he was unable to compete that weekend and a late notice title shot he believed would have gone to him on that same card had he not been unable to fight.

And in the footage doing the rounds, McGregor can be seen stomping on the phone with his designers but the thunderous thud of him stepping on it can also be heard very, very loudly.

Meanwhile, though the incident is thought to have been captured on surveillance video, the footage won't be made public until "prosecutors give it to the defense, sometime after the arraignment 21 days after the arrest". "All his security guards literally surrounded me, pushing me out of the way".

McGregor is still now in the United States doing work on behalf of his Proper No. 12 Irish whiskey with his next court date for the felony charges in his arrest due on April 10. He was subsequently arrested and charged with robbery/strong-arm and criminal mischief over $1,000.

McGregor's attorney dismissed the civil suit, describing it to AP as "a quick effort seeking a payday".
